On the federal level, the TMTA is active in:

• Addressing trade imbalances.
• Addressing infrastructure imbalances including living standards and regulatory standards.
• Addressing currency fluctuation standards.
• Addressing enforcement standards.
• Encouraging a study period for existing trade relationships to determine if they meet the above principles.
• Advocating for a National Trade Strategy which incorporates the above principals for our country as well as other trading countries.
• Advocating that new and renewed agreements conform to the National Trade Strategy.
